Marina L. Ramirez

Marina L. Ramirez is an associate in the firm's Inland Empire office. She primarily assists clients with Labor & Employment matters, as well as in the eMatters, Student Services & Special Education and Governance & Leadership practice areas.

She began her work with Fagen Friedman & Fulfrost as a law clerk, becoming an associate upon passage of the California State Bar exam. Prior to that, she worked as a legal analyst for the City of Moreno Valley, assisting in civil litigation, municipal code and ordinance modifications, and contract review. While enrolled in law school, Ms. Ramirez interned in the Commissioner's Office of the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Other legal work included serving as a court certified student attorney with the Juvenile and Special Education Law Clinic and Housing and Consumer Law Clinic, both in Washington, D.C. She also served as alumni liaison with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute.

Before she began her legal career, Ms. Ramirez worked in education as an instructional assistant with the Riverside County Office of Education and as a tutor for students in grades K-6 across the Inland Empire area.

Ms. Ramirez earned her juris doctor from University of the District of Columbia, David A. Clarke School of Law and holds a bachelor's degree in Mexican American and Africana Studies from University of Arizona. During her first year of law school, Ms. Ramirez studied abroad at Magdalen College at the University of Oxford where she studied Comparative Media Law and Policy. While an undergraduate, she studied abroad at the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London.

In addition, she served as president of the Latina/o Law Student Association and volunteered with the Cesar Chavez Public Charter Schools for Public Policy. She is a member of the George Washington American Inn of Court, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) Alumni Association, the Hispanic National Bar Association, and Riverside County Bar Association.
