Categorically Funded Employees

The California Court of Appeal recently held that certificated employees whose positions are funded by private or public contracts, or who are serving in categorically funded projects, may be treated as temporary employees in limited circumstances. Despite providing guidance regarding the release of such certificated employees prior to the expiration of the program, the Court also left a number of questions unanswered.
