Douglas N. Freifeld is a partner at Fagen Friedman & Fulfrost, where he serves as ethics counsel. Mr. Freifeld has represented California public entities in labor and employment law matters since 1984, including school districts, superior courts, special districts, housing authorities and municipalities. He serves as management's spokesperson in collective bargaining, and is certified in Interest Based Bargaining. Mr. Freifeld regularly handles labor arbitrations and administrative hearings, frequently appearing before PERB and other administrative bodies.
Mr. Freifeld often performs workplace investigations. He is a frequent trainer in harassment and discrimination awareness and prevention, due process issues, and investigation techniques.
For two years in the 1990s, Mr. Freifeld served as the American Bar Association's resident representative in Russia and in Belarus, working closely on rule of law issues with lawyer associations, law schools, and courts.
After graduating with distinction from Stanford University, Mr. Freifeld received his law degree from Columbia University School of Law.
