Katayoon Hemati is an associate in the firm's Oakland office, where she is a member of several practice groups. She provides guidance to clients on Litigation, Labor and Employment, and Business and Facilities matters
She began her legal career at F3, joining the firm as a law clerk in 2017. In this position, she collaborated with the special education litigation team, researching myriad legal issues and assisting school districts with a variety of education matters. While attending law school, Ms. Hemati worked as a professor's research assistant at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and also served as a law clerk in the Oakland City Attorney's Office. In addition, she was a judicial extern in the Unified Family Court, San Francisco Superior Court, as well as a legal and administrative assistant at a Bay Area boutique law firm.
Prior to embarking on her legal career, Ms. Hemati taught English as a second language at the International Language School in Icheon, Republic of Korea.
She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of Law and holds a B.A. in Global Studies & International Relations and a B.A. in Psychology, both from the University of California, Santa Barbara. While an undergraduate, she was a Political Science Immersion Student at Institut D'études Politiques in Lyon, France.
Ms Hemati is fluent in Farsi and speaks conversational French and Spanish. She draws and paints in her free time, and loves exploring new hiking trails throughout the Bay Area.
