Vanessa Lee is an associate in the firm's Los Angeles office, where she is a member of the Labor and Employment practice group. She advises school districts in all areas of employment law, including discipline and dismissals, employee leaves, and discrimination, harassment and retaliation complaints filed with the Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). In addition, Ms. Lee assists with employment litigation matters and Public Records Act requests.
Prior to joining F3, Ms. Lee was an associate with a Los Angeles boutique law firm, where she gained significant litigation experience representing employers in state court, before the Labor Commissioner's Office, and in mediation. She has defended employers against wage and hour, breach of contract, discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination claims.
While in law school, Ms. Lee served as a law clerk for the Health, Education and Welfare Section of the California Office of the Attorney General. There, she drafted motions on behalf of a number of state agencies and researched issues concerning for-profit colleges and the California State Teachers' Retirement System. During law school, Ms. Lee also clerked for the Honorable Garrett Wong in San Francisco Superior Court.
Ms. Lee earned her Juris Doctor from USC Gould School of Law. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Southern California, where she was a member of Psi Chi (Psychology Honor Society).
In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Lee is a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and speaks Mandarin and conversational Spanish.
