(Cate) Kent is an associate in the Los Angeles office and is a member of the
Business & Facilities, Real Estate & Construction practice group. Ms.
Kent represents public school districts and higher education institutions.
Areas of Ms. Kent's expertise include transactional, litigation, and
environmental law matters.
to joining the firm, Ms. Kent worked with a Los Angeles area firm,
representing public agencies, including public school districts and community
college districts, in real property, land use, environmental, construction,
and governance matters. She also served as a law clerk for the Los Angeles
Unified School District, Office of the General Counsel, Facilities Legal
Kent earned her Juris Doctor from the UCLA School of Law, from which she
received the Dean's Scholarship. While attending, she served as Chief
Comments Editor for the UCLA Journal of Environmental Law and Policy, was a
member of the Environmental Law Society, and worked with the El Centro
Landlord-Tenant Clinic at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles. Ms. Kent
graduated magna cum laude from
Auburn University with a B.S. in Interior Design, was on the Dean's List, and
was a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.
Ms. Kent is also a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP), which she earned in 2009. Ms. Kent is currently admitted to the California State Bar.
