A. Star Leal is an associate in the Inland Empire office and is a member of the Labor & Employment and Student Services & Special Education practice groups, working on PERB matters, personnel issues, grievances, and assisting clients with special education matters.
Ms. Leal began her career at F3 as a law clerk. Prior to joining the firm, she clerked for The Alliance for Children's Rights and served as a Research Assistant at the University of California Irvine, School of Law, where she primarily focused on issues pertaining to homeless and foster youth.
Ms. Leal received her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Irvine, School of Law, where she was a Dean's Scholarship recipient. During her time in law school, she served as the Moot Court Board Vice President, the Children's Advocacy Group President, and the co-founder of the Education Rights Project. A highly-decorated graduate, Ms. Leal was UCI Law's 2018 commencement speaker, Pro Bono High Honors recipient, multiple Faculty Awards recipient, Dean's Award recipient, and was awarded a Bergstrom Law Fellowship by the University of Michigan School of Law for her commitment to the field of children's law.
Prior to her legal education, she attended Florida Atlantic University, from which she graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science.
