Gladys F. James is an associate in the firm's Inland Empire office, where she represents clients in special education and student matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. James practiced criminal law as a deputy public defender in the Los Angeles County Public Defender's office. In this role, Ms. James successfully defended clients during felony and misdemeanor arraignments, preliminary hearings, pretrial and trial settings, and negotiated plea agreements. Ms. James was also affiliated with a law firm in the Los Angeles area, specializing in probate, trusts & estates administration, and litigation.
Ms. James earned her Juris Doctor from Trinity Law School, where she participated in Law Review and received American Jurisprudence Awards for remedies, property II and torts. Ms. James also served as a judicial extern for the Orange County Superior Court within the criminal and civil courts, where she conferred with judicial officers and court staff, prepared bench memoranda and tentative ruling recommendations, attended court proceedings and in-chamber discussions. While in law school, she also studied abroad at the Institut International Des Droits De L'Homme (International Institute of Human Rights Law) in Strasbourg, France. She holds a B.S. in business management from the University of Redlands, where she was on the Dean's List.
