Ankita Thakkar is an associate in the firm's Oakland office, where she primarily assists clients in student services and special education matters. Ms. Thakkar advises school districts, county offices of education and special education local plan areas with regard to student issues across all facets of special education law, including duties under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and related California laws and regulations.
Prior to F3, Ms. Thakkar worked on a variety of special education and student services matters, with a focus on charter schools. She earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, and a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from the Pepperdine University School of Law. During law school, Ms. Thakkar was an associate editor of the Pepperdine Law Review and earned the Best Oral Advocate award at the Traynor Moot Court competition. During her time in law school, she also externed for the Criminal High Court of the Ugandan Judiciary through the Pepperdine Global Justice Program and interned at Marvel Entertainment, VSP Office of the General Counsel, and Bruce Lee Enterprises.
Ms. Thakkar holds a bachelor's degree in political science, with a minor in education studies, from the University of California, Los Angeles.
