Rebecca P. (Becky) Feil is an associate in the Sacramento office, where she is an active participant of the firm's Students and Special Education Practice Group. In this capacity, Ms. Feil represents and advises school districts, county offices of education, and special education local plan areas statewide with respect to all aspects of special education law and practice.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Feil worked with both elementary and high school students as a special education teacher in New Hampshire. Additionally, she worked closely with adolescents in the juvenile justice system in an educational capacity. This familiarity with both the legal and educational realms affords Ms. Feil with a unique and invaluable perspective in due process and Section 504 hearings, Individualized Education Program (IEP) team meetings, mediations, and Manifestation Determinations.
Ms. Feil participates in the Georgetown University Law Alumni Interview Program, interviewing candidates, liaising with admissions officers and providing feedback to admissions officers on each candidate. She holds an M.Ed. in Elementary Education from the University of New Hampshire, and received her B.A., magna cum laude, from California State University, Sacramento in Child Development.
