Overview

Focusing her practice primarily on the business and facilities arena, Sei-Hee Park advises school districts on business and real estate deals and other issues pertaining to all aspects of their properties and buildings. She draws on her resolution-finding proclivity and skill in document drafting and contract review to facilitate smooth real estate transactions such as sales, purchases, leases and settlements. Additionally, Sei-Hee guides public education agencies in navigating charter school and governance issues.

Sei-Hee’s clients benefit from her wide knowledge base and multifaceted legal background in both the public space and private practice. Previously, for example, she worked at the California Civil Rights Department (formerly the Department of Fair Employment and Housing), where she mediated a wide range of both housing and employment complaints filed with the Department. Sei-Hee now applies her familiarity with governmental agencies to review school board policies and ensure these groups stay compliant with the Brown Act and adhere to all requirements involving the vetting of potential conflicts of interest.

In addition, Sei-Hee practiced for five years at a law firm specializing in charter school issues. She taps her big-picture perspective and valuable insights and uses them to the advantage of school districts and county offices of education when they’re navigating oversight responsibilities and other complex matters connected with these independent but publicly funded educational institutions.

Sei-Hee always views her work through the lens of public service. She is gratified to work in an arena where she can make a positive direct impact on the lives of children and the well-being of the greater community.
