At a time when stories of teacher shortages pepper the news media, school districts are struggling to find teachers that are appropriately credentialed and adequately prepared for teaching. Grants like the one received by Cal State Fullerton help to ensure that our newly trained teachers enter the workforce with appropriate preparation. These funds will be put to good use by addressing the shortage of diverse and multilingual early childhood special education teachers in local classrooms.

Project Camino strives to ensure equal access and education for all students, with an emphasis on young students who are members of groups that are historically underrepresented.
The goals for the project include improving equitable student outcomes for young children with disabilities, particularly in the areas of literacy and mathematics skills. Coursework and in-classroom training for credential students include inclusion, diversity and multilingualism instruction.
