Getting PE credit for mowing the lawn of an elderly or disabled person accomplishes two purposes. One is the help given to someone in need and the second is the PE credit for the student doing the mowing. This is a great idea that is discussed in this interview that hopefully will spread around the country.
A high school in Dubuque, Iowa, gives students physical education credit when they go out into the community and do yard work for community members who are older or disabled.
