What can I solve for you?

As a former teacher and former grant writer in the field of education and social services, I understand at least some of the challenges that come with trying to serve the needs of so many people and parties. My experience in law school, along with a judicial externship, a summer associate position with a civil litigation firm, and clinical work in special education, has helped me apply my work experience in the field of school law. I help clients navigate the law while offering guidance on implementing best practices, all with the goal of improving the educational experience for California students.

By listening to, and investing in, our clients, we do a better job of serving the needs of public school students throughout the state. I’m committed to helping clients with both the issue at hand and issues that may arise in the future.

Overview

Damon focuses his practice on special education, general student services, charter schools, and board governance.

Drawing from his experience as an educator and parent, Damon approaches client inquiries in a supportive and relatable way. He knows educating the state’s students is no small task, so he collaborates with district personnel to efficiently solve and prevent issues from arising in the future.

Damon’s education experience extends to law school where he did clinical work—attending IEP’s, representing parties in disciplinary proceedings, and communicating with a range of school staff and community members. He externed for a family law judge, giving Damon a balanced perspective on challenges that children and families may face outside of the school building, but which impact a student’s experience at school. Damon also worked in civil litigation as a summer associate where he gained experience putting his research and writing skills to work.

After School

I love spending time with my wife and young son. I also love reading, traveling, eating/cooking, watching movies/series, listening to music, and playing and watching all types of sports (even though soccer dominates - I carry the burden of being a longtime Tottenham fan).
