Drawing on three decades of experience in the educational and governance arenas, consultant Michael Lin helps school district leaders navigate the many complexities of providing high-quality public education to California students. With a rich background in engineering, teaching, human resources, and school administration, including as a school district superintendent, Michael accesses his wide and deep knowledge base to assist in resolving the myriad challenge that education leaders face.

Michael provides salient non-legal coaching and guidance in areas including board governance, executive cabinet recruitment and coaching, staffing, budgets and fiscal management, labor negotiations, strategic planning, operational processes and many others. He frequently counsels school district leaders and makes presentations in workshops and conferences.

An unabashed extrovert and people person, Michael brings an authentic, personable approach to everything he does. Michael’s family immigrated to the United States from Taiwan when he was a child, and he and his siblings benefitted greatly from the public-school educations they received.

Michael has long endeavored to give back to the system that gave him so much and was originally inspired to go into teaching and help high school students by the athletic coaches of his youth. He’s gratified to pass along the valuable perspective he now possesses after a long, eventful and successful school district career.
