Terry Koehne provides forward-thinking, creative and collaborative communications solutions, helping school districts, boards and county offices of education to achieve their goals, in a way that also respects—and resonates with—staff, students and parents.

Former Chief Communications Officer for the Contra Costa County Office of Education, Terry was the spokesperson for the County Office of Education, and prior to that, spent 20 years as the Communications and Community Relations Director for the San Ramon Valley Unified School District. These experiences have created a deep familiarity with the TK-12 world, and especially the importance of working with the Board of Education.

From tragedies like school violence, to effective negotiations communication, to employee misconduct, Terry has seen it all and has helped his clients create effective content and messaging in preparation or response. His calm demeanor is particularly appreciated in high profile situations and helps to ease the burdens of already stressed public sector clients, now facing additional new fiscal challenges, volatility and the various other unknowns.

In addition to the firm’s clients he assists as a member of the NLCS team, Terry also handles communications matters for day-to-day firm operations and assists F3 attorneys with their communications needs.
