Our History

F3 was founded on our commitment to public education. Attorneys and professionals who share a passion for education joined together in 2006 to create a firm dedicated to public education, and to a service style and professional warmth proven to build strong, trusted partnerships with our clients.

Focusing on education helps us attract and retain legal professionals who share our principles, our passion for education and our commitment to service. In fact, many F3 attorneys and senior staff began their professional careers in public education as teachers, aides, counselors, trustees and general counsels.

Beginning with offices in San Diego, Los Angeles and Oakland, this team of attorneys immediately captured the attention of education leaders. Rapid growth followed across the state of California, attracting some of the most talented attorneys in the industry. Their exceptional legal work is matched with client services that serve to strengthen public education.

The journey continues. Many exceptional professionals have joined the team and expanded the firm into seven markets, adding Sacramento, Fresno, Inland Empire and Midwest offices to our network. Over fifteen years later, F3 is proud to work with nearly 400 of the state’s school districts, county offices, SELPAs, and other education organizations.

Over the years the firm has grown in size and across practice areas, yet the founding passion and purpose remain unwavering: Our mission is to help every client to achieve their mission, and at the heart of their mission is student learning.

Our clients work tirelessly to deliver excellent education to all students, helping them to achieve their full potential.  We believe that our collective commitment to education must be complemented by attention to helping protect the environment.  Together, education and environmental awareness are wise investments in a strong, healthy, and promising future for our communities, state, and nation.

As our firm works with clients who have set a goal to reduce energy and natural resource consumption – and thereby reduce their impact on the environment – we strive to do our part, too. 

Our Going Green! commitment at work:

  • Videoconferences – We deliver professional development workshops online, reducing the environmental impact of travel
  • Work from Home – F3 has long supported optimal use of technology, encouraging telecommuting
  • News and Information – We deliver newsletters, tip sheets, and invitations to key events electronically. When we do use paper, we print on recycled materials and ship with minimal packaging.

Supporting environmental innovation and solutions

We are proud to be the public education leader in sustainability, renewables, green construction, and renovation and water conservation.  With great pride, we have sponsored the Going Green! Education Award, which was part of the California School Boards Association Golden Bell Awards. This award recognized an exemplary site-based program that engaged students in creating solutions to environmental challenges.
