Delores Perley

What can I solve for you?

I can fill any Business Services vacancy on an interim basis, including the role of Assistant Superintendent, Business. Additionally, I can support Chief Business Officers and Superintendents with ongoing projects such as business practice analysis, audits, year-end book closings, and other related matters.

What's it like to work with me?

I am a hard worker, but I enjoy what I do and strive to do it with kindness, integrity and a sense of humor. I also always try to achieve a delicate balance between doing what’s right financially, but also, fundamentally, for our students, staff, and teachers.

Overview

Delores Perley brings more than 23 years of progressively responsible experience leading business office teams in the coordination and management of district funds, including general fund budgets, parcel tax and Proposition 39 bond funds for both elementary and high school districts.

Delores not only has significant finance director experience, but has also served as an Assistant Superintendent of Business/Chief Business Officer (CBO). Delores offers the best of both worlds, and a resulting valuable blend of experience and insights.

Delores most recently served for five years as Assistant Superintendent, Business/CBO, most recently in the Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District. In this role, she provided executive direction and supervision of the Business Services team, including the Business Office, Technology, Construction Management, Nutrition Services, Facilities, Maintenance, Operations, and Transportation and (because of an absence) even Human Resources. Prior to that, Delores has held the positions of Chief Financial Officer/Director of Financial Services, Interim Associate Superintendent of Business Services, Business Services Coordinator and Accountant.

Highlights of her administrative career include:

  • Coordinating business support departments during the pandemic and ensuring safety precautions were followed as students returned to school in person
  • While preserving the District’s Positive certification during the Great Recession and through the economic recovery, managing transition from a community-funded, or Basic Aid, to Local Control Funding Formula District
  • Designing and implementing new programs and procedures to increase district efficiencies and maximize resources

After School

I enjoy visiting with my son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. I also love audiobooks of all kinds. I listen to them anytime I am driving or doing something around the house.
