What can I solve for you?

Drawing on my experience as a former legal aid attorney, I have honed my skills of putting my clients’ needs first and maintaining an open line of communication. Setting realistic expectations is also important to me and helps ensure an honest dialog with my clients. My strong litigation and writing skills serve my clients well, allowing me to better solve their legal problems.

What's it like to work with me?

I respect my clients and always strive to ensure they feel heard and cared for. I listen to their needs and present viable legal solutions so they can choose their preferred path forward. I see myself as being here to provide the best legal guidance possible and to help them reach their desired outcomes. Ultimately, my goal is to ease the burden on my clients so they can continue with their passion, educating our youth.

Overview

Emily focuses on Special Education, working diligently for the school districts so the administrators can provide an optimal environment in which to teach their students effectively and comfortably.

Emily gained valuable experience while participating in the Street Law Clinic at law school. Every week, students visited an underserved school to provide practical lessons not usually taught in school, such as how to open a credit card, how to apply for FAFSA, alternate options for those forgoing college, and how to protect one’s identity online. Emily learned how to listen to people’s needs and find solutions to the challenges they face.

Working in law school externships and as a lawyer handling eviction defense for nonprofits allowed Emily to hone important legal skills early in their career, such as litigation, drafting motions, conducting depositions, and even home visits. This work has prepared Emily well for the various scenarios encountered in special education.

After School

I love to listen to music and go to concerts. I love almost all music, but right now I’m in a techno era. I love to go to the beach to skate, surf, or just tan. I also love to read books that teach me things I didn’t know about before. Right now I’m reading out the repercussions from generations of deep-rooted environmental racism in America. Before that, I read a book about postcolonial astrology. Sorry, it’s not more uplifting! I just love to learn.
