Grady Jensen is an associate in our San Diego office. Grady focuses primarily on special education, student services, and student rights issues. He draws on strong intellectual skills and a rich background in theatre for young audiences to approach each new issue with a collaborative and solution-oriented mindset. Additionally, Grady has a passion for legal research and writing that empowers him to craft compelling pleadings and compose clear answers to novel questions.

Grady has experience navigating LGBTQ+ student legal issues with a focus on gender-diverse students, including a deep understanding of the best ways to handle communications with parents, families, and the larger school community regarding LGBTQ+ related topics.

Prior to going to law school, Grady worked with theatre companies that devised immersive, sensory-friendly theatre experiences for young people with autism and other intellectual disabilities. He has worked as a guest teaching artist in special education and general education classrooms where he led elementary and middle school students through drama workshops that brought a creative and immersive spin to classroom instruction. As a former arts educator, he understands the unique challenges that school personnel face when trying to meet the standards set for them with limited funding.

Grady first started at F3 as a summer associate while he was in law school. He previously worked at the Family Law Facilitator’s office at the San Diego Superior Court. Grady also interned throughout law school at the Children’s Advocacy Institute, and he published a student issue brief entitled “Protecting Youth Access to Gender-Affirming Care: A Parental Rights Pathway” with the Institute. His passion for child advocacy and legal scholarship further strengthens his qualifications to navigate the intricacies of special education law.
