Komey Vishakan guides clients on a full range of matters including board governance, investigations, Title IX compliance, litigation, student discipline, and personnel matters. As a former General Counsel of a school district, she has a keen understanding and respect for both the challenges and the limitations her clients face. She uses her unique insights and a 360-degree perspective to guide her clients powerfully through complex and high-visibility issues.

Komey has a demonstrated ability to navigate high-profile matters, successfully responding to federal investigations and developing compliance programs for K-12 schools. She has also resolved complex litigation issues through negotiation, mediation, and trial, and designed and delivered training programs on topics such as board governance, Brown Act, Public Records Act, and sexual harassment and bullying prevention.

Prior to moving to the San Francisco Bay Area, Komey served as a prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service in the UK, as well as state and federal prosecuting bodies in Australia. These diverse experiences coupled with her in-house and private practice experience in California position her optimally to navigate the complex and nuanced landscape clients currently experience in educational settings.
