With nearly 30 years of experience as a dedicated advocate, James Largent offers a rare and powerful combination of legal acumen and clinical insight. Having served as both a mental health clinician and an attorney, he brings a multidimensional perspective to every case. In his clinical work, he has a proven track record of assisting clients in building meaningful connections, fostering healthy relationships, and navigating the emotional complexities of moving toward their goals and dreams.

In his legal practice, James serves a diverse range of clients, supporting them in identifying latent risks and developing strategic solutions. His practice is defined by his experience in special education, public records requests, and employee disciplinary matters. Beyond litigation and counsel, James has experience in contract drafting and review and the nuances of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).

James’ unique background allows him to demonstrate leadership in his field by addressing not just the legal mechanics of a case, but the human element involved. This intersection of law and psychology provides a unique dimension to his work, ensuring that clients receive holistic, high-stakes advocacy that is both legally sound and emotionally intelligent. After School

I love the great outdoors! I’m a fan of bike riding, golfing, watersports, backpacking, working in the yard, building anything out of wood, or just going for a walk with my wife and kids. I enjoy a good story, such as the Chronicles of Narnia, Pride & Prejudice, The Old Man and the Sea, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and any Dogman story. As an advocate, I’m inspired by the work of Charles Hamilton Houston, Henrietta Mears, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, John Perkins, and Ghandi. My favorite movies include: The Great Debaters, Rogue One, Mulan, My Cousin Vinny, and Pelican Brief. I enjoy modal jazz (such as Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue), country music, hip-hop, and classical music. I once learned to play the “Moonlight Sonata” without musical training. I love watching basketball, baseball, football, and soccer when they are played at the highest levels.
