What can I solve for you?

My negotiation skills and litigation experience help me effectively serve clients on an array of special education, litigation, and student services issues. As a former deputy district attorney, my courtroom advocacy and trial experience help me to advocate in the best interest of my clients and advise clients through all stages of litigation.

What's it like to work with me?

My goal is to ensure each of my clients feel supported every step of the way. I make myself available at all times and foster close relationships with all my clients. I always look for ways to help school districts conserve resources and avoid incurring excess costs down the road. It's gratifying to use my advocacy skills on my clients' behalf.

Overview

Bringing extensive trial and litigation experience to her practice, Jennifer Oliva works in the areas of special education, litigation, and student services. She diligently applies her outstanding research, writing and people skills to a variety of matters, including due process complaints, hearing and trial preparation, discovery motions, and witness interviews.

Prior to joining F3, Jennifer served as Deputy District Attorney III at the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office. She also previously held the position of law clerk in the Criminal Division at the San Diego City Attorney’s Office,as well as for the California Department of Justice Office of the Attorney General in San Diego. In these capacities Jennifer litigated criminal cases, conducted felony preliminary hearings, drafted and argued motions and appellate briefs, researched case law, and maintained professional relationships with the court and opposing counsel.

Jennifer now draws heavily from this valuable background and the acumen she developed to help F3 clients, including during negotiations and mediation. She possesses an innate knowledge of when to use her strong presence in hearings and in court, and when to step back and slow the pace down.

In her time as a public sector lawyer, Jennifer worked with many victims of crime and observed the dynamics of families with children who were headed to youth incarceration programs or ultimately into the adult criminal justice system. Her familiarity with the consequences of unaddressed or poorly addressed youth disabilities, mental challenges and other problems drives her to help school districts give students the support that they need.
